I got this Tiffen Star special effect filter and I am really pleased with it using them with the HV20. A nice, impressive filter. Check my video at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJrbU4tTsJI or my full review of several Tiffen filters and a 720p version of the video here: http://tuxtops.com/node/2415

Hi Eugenia,
I had a hard time with a few of the photo examples. It seems you were zooming in quite a bit on several of the example photos and I had a hard time figuring out the difference (contrast lens).
Are those lenses designed for up close shooting? If not, I might suggest zooming out and/or taking these important comparison shots from farther away. The contrast photo appears to be difficult to decipher either in part because of the subject matter or the extra black bars around the one with the lense on. The appliance one looks a little grainy. If you did use the HV20 for the camera to test with, I would expect the screen captures to be in much higher quality.
The stars lense looks like it could be fun.

ultra contrast is a very good filter, it won an Academy Award for Technical Achievement

Sp8ce07, I did not zoom in at all. The quality is normal, they are as Vegas Movie Studio exports for WMV. The screencaptures is from the WMV version, not the .m2t, because I needed to have pictures that don't have interlacing.
The FLD was indeed a bit grainy though indeed.

I bought a star filter for my old Panachronic GS300 because it had incredible CCD smear and I was trying to mask it. I now can see a good use for it tho as I use my HV20 for 90% car related stuff and having say a car moving towards the camera and the filter rotated as it moves would produce a great effect.
