Acid Music Studio 7

Sony just released Acid Music Studio 7 which is Vista compatible:

It's pretty cheap ($60 download) relative to Acid Pro 6 ($375), and the features they've removed doesn't seem too limiting. This package also includes 3017 loops, 33 loop based projects, 90 DLS instruments, 25 DLS based projects and 1141 midi files.

I already own some Acid based loops and instruments which I can use in Vegas, but I can't use the acid project files in Vegas, hence my decision to get Acid Music Studio.

Can anybody care to comment weather this is a good package to get alongside Sony Vegas, or is it better to wait for Acid Pro 7?

Ok I've just gone ahead and bought it anway. Here's a warning to y'all:

The download only version doesn't come with the free loops and instruments! You have to order the extra dvd, which means you incur shipping costs. I wish I had known that!

Sony ships using FedEx, and the customs declaration clearly states what the commercial value is.

So, what happens at customs?

FedEx pays the duty, then cross charges, adding an administrative charge. They don't give you the choice of paying or not. They simply charge you and you're stuffed.

So, downloading works out much cheaper. But those missing samples....

Worley: They already added an extra $10 tax on the price of purchase, so I'm assuming that would have covered the item wether I had it delivered or downloaded it only. I read on one of the sony forums that someone else was in my position and they were advised to contact sony's customer service department who would ship the extras at shipping cost only. That would make the value of the extras $0, which wouldn't incur any extra taxes.

I sure hope they were right!

Update: After a very swift support call, they shipped the dvd with the extras and only charged me the cost of shipping. Very happy with Sony support!
