After Effects CS3 Does .mpeg Reverse 3:2 Pulldown
Two things:
1. when I capture 1080i 60 HV20 video clips in Premiere Pro CS3 they appear as .mpeg
2. when I first started editing these clips the output was terrible until I started outputting in .mpeg2. They look just as good as the original captured video now.
Okay.
Now, I have been able to reverse the 3:2 pulldown of HV20 24f video using After Effects CS3 and I get 23.976 realtime video out: no interlacing and 24 fps. I was so excited I didn't go to sleep last night. I documented the procedure in full and was prepared to post it here.
But when I render and output to lossless .avi the video looks terrible just like when I first started outputting my 1080i 6o video in Premiere Pro CS3.
At the moment I seem to be very limited as to the output formats available. Most of the selections are grayed out. I saw Flash and only a couple of other formats at the top of the selection menu (can't recall what these are at the moment.)
Tonight I'm going to find out how I can get mpeg2 out and I'm thinking that the video will look really good then.
If anyone has further suggestions let me know right here.
Visually, I find 23.976 fps realtime quite appealing.
I'll keep you all posted. :hv20-smilie03:
