Man hopefully someone can help me. I have the rode ntg2 mic and the beachtek adapter. In order to get enough volume from the mic i have to turn my gain up pretty much all the way. Is this normal?? I mean, when i have the gain in the middle u have to pretty much be right up in front of the cam to get any decent audio.. but if i have the gain all the way up, then i get alot of static.. can anyone give me some things i can try?? i have the beachtek settings turned all the way up. BTW its a beachtek dxa-2s

You might want to check the audio settings in your camera. The beachtek is supposed to be all the way up, check the manual... I use the same combo and only need to turn the mic in the camera up about half way to get good audio.

yeah bro, i checked the audio in the cam turned all the way up. it seems the only way to get the audio the way i thought it should be is to turn the gain all the way up, but when i do that i get all the static. its frustrating.

No, I'm talking about the audio SETTINGS. Make sure, "WIND SCREEN" is "OFF" and "MIC ATT" is "OFF"...
