Hi all,
Like many people here I'm looking at getting a Black Magic Intensity card to take the HDMI feed direct into a computer & then using a codec to get the file size down to something manageable. Now the thing is I don't yet have a computer, so I was hoping to get a Shuttle PC for editing at home and also for lugging around when I shoot on location - (a full tower PC wouldn't be practical). The BM Intensity is a PCIe card but most Shuttle PC's only have 1 x PCIe slot, and that tends to get used for the graphic card. The other alternative is a laptop and the Magma chassis to hold the Intensity card but that thing runs to serious money, and it still needs an external power supply. There's no way I could build anything so does anyone know of a suitable portable PC that I could buy? How would a Shuttle perform if I used the PCIe slot for the Intensity card and simply used the onboard graphics on the motherboard?
I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this tech stuff so please be gentle with me!
Many thanks for any help,
Greg
