We are getting a MacBook Pro soon to hopefully deal with our footage problems. We are using a mac mini right now to try and edit HD footage. To begin with in FCE, it is incredibly slow. My question is when you export on this program with FULL QUALITY as a choice for exporting it ends up looking awful. There are lines going across on the frames and the quality is terrible. We shot the footage with a Canon HV20 on the 24 frame mode. Are we supposed to use a more advanced program like FCP to pulldown the frames to avoid this mess we are seeing? I actually don't mind the way the footage looks with the 30 fps the camera records to the HDV tape. Do we have to pull the frames down to avoid the footage with lines??? Very confused. Just want to make a film. I wish we had a technical editor to help us out. Can anyone help us out?? Thank You.
