I tried to connect the camera to a standard TV set with the stereo video cable, and it doesn’t work. I checked the settings according to the manual, and everything should be ok. The TV set it’s a standard Panasonic Quintrix.

I hope I am not telling you the obvious. I presume that you are using the AV out on the side of the tape carrier, that the cable is plugged Red and White into the audio R and L, the yellow is in the composite video yellow socket. Also that you are not using either of the sockets on the rear.( at least for this simple test)
If so, the connections are OK. Set to Tape on side switch, set to Plaback on power switch, rewind tape using the controls under the LCD screen and then Play.
Check that the Menu item AV/phones is set to AV.
Check that the Panasonic is set to the correct AV input.
I have just tried my camera using the AV out and the TV will show the same picture as is shown on the LCD. This works in record mode also and in Still image mode.
If it still does not work. Check all connections, check TV settings, test using another TV.
Good luck

Thank you for your effort. Unfortunately for me, I’ve already done it all, with no results.
My request, sorry, was uncompleted. I can see something: a very distort and dark image, with a very low sound level.
I’ll take your final advice, and buy a new TV
Thank you.

Sorry about that. Can you try the camera on a different TV to prove that it is your Panasonic and not the camera? Or vice versa if you know what I mean!
If you are forced into buying a new TV, try for one with component video input or HDMI. The picture from the HV20 is just stunning!

Unfortunately, again, I’ve already done that, too. The camera connects fine with another TV, using the same cable. And it’s a very ordinary, hypermarket no-name, no-brand kind of a TV set. I don’t understand what’s wrong with the “special” Panasonic Quintrix- blah, blah, but that’s how life gets ironic sometimes:hv20-smilie03: . Thank you for your support.
