This looks to be an official canon site with HV10 footage. At least Canon is implying that the footage was shot with the hv10. To be honest the footage looks "too good". Tell me what you guys think. Seems like high end camera footage to me.

Yeah, that footage is incredible, isn't it???
ANd the HV20 is supposed to be every bit as good (if not better) AND have better low light cabability!!!

Yeah, but that footage look REALLY good. Here is a link to a japanese review with HV20 downloadable footage. Looks good but not same calibur. :

Problem with some of these samples are they are not true 24p. If you frame step through the footage you'll see frame 1, frame 2, frame 3, then a repeat of frame 3. I think they improperly converted the raw mpeg2 transport streams to AVC mpeg4.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still excited about getting a HV20 for myself.

Indeed, I saw that too, and was wondering if there could be a true comparison made from those examples. The Canon HV10 footage is INCREDIBLE, the HV20 watch.impress footage is impressive, but I agree it's not in the same league as the Canon stuff. I'm REALLY hoping it was a matter of poor operator/compression/footage gathering, etc.
A side-by-side of the two cams would be great!

That HC10 footage makes heavy use of a really good tripod and I suspect pushes the camera to the limits of it's ability, while perhaps staying away from any weak areas. I've never used a HD camcorder, but I will be getting the HV20 as soon as I can.
