If the Canon WA lens at 43 mm mount results in Vignetting, I would think that the smaller diameter would only make that issue worse. Additionally, the smaller diameter lens will probably give you more barrel distortion.

Just for the record, the HV20 exhibits zero vignetting with the Canon WD-43 adapter (http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=5117) (not sure how this rumor started, or why it won't die).
And yes, others have reported vignetting with filters, W/A adapters, etc. smaller than 43mm.

Also, this is a discussion forum. Please save the abbreviated text-speak for IMs and your cell phone. Not everyone in here is a teenager and deciphering that ridiculous shorthand is annoying. If you're too lazy to type out a full question we're too lazy to answer.

Ha, I didn't even notice, I had to go back and re-read. I guess I'm so desensitized to it now.

To answer the OP's question, you will get noticeable and instrusive vignetting no matter what 37mm accessory you mount on the HVx0. I speak from experience.
Will it be a full circle of vignetting or just partially in the corners because im trying not to buy a new lens considering im rarely gonna film skating, and sorry for the abbreviation i was about to leave the house when i posted.

Jackson May,
Unless I am blind, there is definite vignetting in the photos labeled "with" :( Those dark areas around the four corners is considered vignetting.
I use a Sony wide-angle that I purchased on e-bay years ago for a still camera, it has 52 mm threads and works with no vignetting, even with a back-loaded filter sandwiched in between.

There is also significant barrel distortion in the images as well as image degradation with the lens accessory.

the 3032 hd its 37mm thread has some vignetting just in photomode but it has NONE in filming mode. you can check some images of it here http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=10214
and YES a smaller diameter can cause or often causes vignetting but not always. for example the hd5050 (0.5) also has a 37mm thread and there is some vignetting with the hv20/30.

Maybe you should become more multi lingual, language changes with the times, its nver static. What we think acceptable speak now would have been unheard of centuries ago.
I am an old timer BTW, & I dont have any trouble deciphering,
cheers

cheersI think it's just plain rude. There's a legitimate reason to use that text-speak on a cell phone or IM, but when trying to discuss something intelligently on a technical forum I think it is out of place. It shows laziness and lack of respect for the forum.
