I think you are confused. A 2x adapter means it magnifies the zoom capabilities to 2 times the regular zoom. So for the hv20 a 2x adapter would make it 20x zoom; 10x multiplied by 2= 20 = 20x zoom. So you would have to find a 3x adapter which I have never came across

I think you're right, but basicaly what i'm asking is if theres a telephoto lenses that can allow to (multiplied by the optical integrated zoom) can reach about 50X, maybe a adapter ring to use a canon telephoto lens for the XLH1 or XAH1, to (for example) have a close up of a play at a football game.:hv20-smilie45:

Past a certain point, you're going to have two main problems:

1. There will be too little light hitting the sensor to get a decent exposure,

2. You will find it almost impossible to get a stable image unless the whole rig is completely locked down.

There are good reasons why the Canon telephoto only increases the focal length by 1.7X.

Thank you for the information, very clear and easy to understand!!

I was going to say the same, it would be very tough to stabalize 50x correctly. Trust me you will do fine with the 1.7 adapter. For shooting football you shouldn't need that much

This is something I'm considering:
