Our HV20 has started exihibiting a VERY BAD behaviour :

Whether on a tripod or not, on battery or AC, it will randomly stop the recording for short periods of about 8 seconds.
(in fact ranging from 8s to 8s and 3frames)

The biggest problem is you are not aware of this : everything happens as is it kept shooting, but once capturing you realize there are those missing parts.
This is not a problem with the tape (verified)

It's absolutely random (or we could not find the factor making t happen) and can happen as much as 7-8times per tape or not at all.
Has anyone got similar experiences and if yes a fix ?

Do you think you are talking about the same thing?

yes looks like we're talking about a dropout issue here (sorry, my english ain't perfect and I didn't have this word "at hand" while writing...)

However my tests show it's got nothing to do with the tape (same tape won't drop out at the same position).

My guess would be with the MPEG compression chip having trouble always sustaining the workload.

any thoughts ?
worth bothering canon ? (well, in my case it is worth it : the main usage we have for the HV20 right now is non-stop recording, on a tripod...)
