Would it be possible for a few people to post some information on their rendering times. Stuff to include would be source file size/length/type, output settings, and time taken. I would really appreciate if you could also post your computer spec (processor, ram, hard drive) as I'm trying to find if there is a weak link in my system.
I'll post up my own results in the morning. Time for bed now.
Thanks in advance.

Computer is a P4, 2.6Gig Hz, 1Gig ram, XP Pro.
Program used is Womble Mpeg Video Wizard. Input files are 1440x1080 25Mbs CBR m2t.
If used only for editing without any effects, it re-writes a new file at 90 fps (no re-encoding). If a transition is added, it encodes that transition at 1 fps. In NTSC land, encoding would take about 1 min extra for each 2 second transition. Also speed change, reverse video, titles and other efects encode at about 1-2 fps. 1920x1080 still photos on the time line encode about 5 fps.
I output an Mpeg2 1440x1080 25Mbs VBR file, which doesn't re-encode the CBR stuff but only the effect stuff because the effects are smoother with VBR and file sizes are a bit smaller.
Hope this helps in your comparison.
