has anyone calculated HV30's FOV angle? i would do it myself but i dont have an overscan monitor to help me frame an object correctly and measure the distances.

to make myself more clear..i need to calculate the horizontal Angle Of View (hAOV) in order to do some camera matchmoving in 3DS MAX

Did you check the review on Camcorderinfo.com? Sometimes they measure that stuff.

yes it doesnt say anything. the point is to frame a big object exactly to the camera's frame and using the width of the object and distance of the camera to the object, calculate the angle

We tested the HV30’s maximum field of view using a vertical laser at both left and right angles and subtracting the difference of the measurements. The HV30 was tested with the Zoom pulled back fully and OIS disabled. The video footage was viewed on an external monitor in order to attain a true reading. The HV30 displayed a maximum wide angle measurement of 50 degrees, which is right on par with the HV20.
