View Full Version : How can I be sure I did the pulldown right?

I used the tool in the sticky to do the 24p pulldown on my .m2t files...but is there some way to be sure that it actually did all the right frames?

When I step thru the .m2t frame by frame versus the pulldown'd .avi I frame by frame, I can definitely notice that there is no interlacing / ghosting, but still some motion blur in the .avi, seemingly way too much at times, but this is probably just a result of fast moving vs the slower capture..right?

Before I knew about 24p pulldown when I encountered ghosting I thought "Oh what a nice motion blur" until I learned more and discovered ghosting was not a good thing :P So any telltale signs would be appreciated!

The difference is that the motion blur would actually be a sort of smudged motion in the direction that the object / camera was moving, whereas the pulldown will have a blended copy of two frames, showing two distinct images of the same object.

It sounds like you've got your pulldown right.
