need info about Sony DCR-TRV80

Does anyone know what kind of external mic I can use with this camcorder,
the mic jack says (plug in power),so I assume that you don't need a mic
that uses a battery,because the camcorder supplies the power,I bought an
ATR35 for a Canon HV20(which requires a mic with battery,when hooked up to the mic jack),but I don't think that will work on a Powered mic jack:hv20-smilie51:THX for any info.

i own a TRV80 and i used a R0de Videomic. It didnt work without its battery.

Detox did u have to buy something extra or were u able to mount the rode videomic on the TRV80E camera normally?
