Hi ! I don't know where to introduce me so I do it here, sorry if it's not the right place.
I'm french (from Paris) and I have a school English so sorry if my sentences are stranges ^^!
And sorry if my futures questions are stupids, I don't have a big vocabulary so there's some words (technical) that I don't know.
I have my HV20 for 2 days, so you can understand that I'm happy.:hv20-smilie03:
I have found this forum in a french vidéo forum. It's cool to find a place where everyone has the same camcorder ^^!
See you soon !

Hi Anthogore,
Welcome to HV20 and it's members. I've got 62 years of english and all my sentences are weird, you'll fit right in!!
Yes, Mal has done a fantastic job. One camera, one stop knowledge centre, with experts to guide us along, couldn't be better.

Bonjour Anthogore!
Welcome to the forums, and you're right, Mal probably does need to create a subforum/thread where people can introduce themselves.
I hope you're enjoying your HV20 as much as we are. We're looking forward to seeing your footage!

Thanks for your wlecome !
I can help in a technical way (compression, editing,...) and if some of you are editing on Avid products I will try to help them if they have any problem.
For the moment I'm testing ma new cam, and it's really amazing ! I prefer shot in 25p (I have a PAL cam), the sharp looks better to me.
I will post some of my footages when they will be interesting.
SpoilerWarning, your French is great ^^!

Merci beaucoup amigo(?!), but alas, my French, she is non-existant. :hv20-smilie84: I wish I could speak it though, my girlfriend is taking French lessons (o-la-la!) and I have friends in Paris whom I visit often, and which I am very fond of but the language barrier is a bit of a pain. C'est la vie!
I can help in a technical way (compression, editing,...)
Thanks again, I will be picking your brains when I come to compress my final short film for DVD. I use Vegas, but I'm never sure how much the bitrate should be, etc. etc.

Who would've known Lloyd Christmas to be such a great linguist?

I was watching Amelie (Le Fableux Destin d'Amelie Poulain) last week, and found, much to my surprise, that if I didn't pay attention to the subtitles, I could understand much more of the dialogue than I thought I would.
But still, I am no polyglot. I'm a strict monoglot.

Dang Spoiler. I thought that was a picture of you and you just resembled Jim. You know I haven't seen that movie. I'll have to add it to my Netflix que some time. Is it pretty funny? OOPs, I guess I'm off the subject. What is the subject anyway? Why these posts belong in the Tavern or Coffee shop? Oh, I must have had a few too many hits, we are in the tavern aren't we?

Is it pretty funny?
It's hilarious, especially if you've had a pint or three!
Lloyd: I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this.
Harry: I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver is full of shit, man
:hv20-smilie81:
Just don't watch the sequel!!

Yeah, the sequel is terrible!
Heh, and the scene right at the beginning (the one where your avatar is from) is pretty funny.
Lloyd: That's a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?
Lady @ bus stop: Austria.
Lloyd: Austria! Well, then. G'day mate! Let's put another shrimp on the barbie!
Lady @ bus stop: Let's not.
Heh...
