Hey guys

Have not had much time with my camera yet but am going to do some proper test footage for upload shortly...

Does anyone want to see anything different at which i can film? Not too sure about filming flowers though:hv20-smilie03:, surely most of you would like to see something else..:hv20-smilie72: Any ideas?

Cheers!!

Aliens (not the illegal kind)? Sasquatch? Lockness Monster? Any of these will do for me. :)

Really though, I always find local area attractions on video interesting. Since we're all from different states/countries, it's nice to see what certain cities have to offer.

We've seen lots of beautiful montage work of scenery and things, but I've not yet seen much as far as People goes!

I've been very interested in seeing how well audio, primarily dialogue, is recorded with the little on-camera mic.

How about just filming your town? The cars, buses, trains, people... The mundane parts of life.

Those are the clips that I like best because they show the things we know. And because e know them so well, we can judge how accurate the HV20 is at capturing them.

Yes. Good point. If i cant get the Loch Ness Monster on film i guess i will havvvvve to get footage of the ''goings on'' in my town.

Cheers

I have some footage of friends playing DDR on my birthday party, but I donŽt think theyŽd like me to share this here. ^^

IŽd say just go to the town centre, take some footage in the morning, at noon, in the evening, at night. Maybe especially things that are hard for one-chip hdv cams.

How about some footage of rush hour traffics and people. Shoot from different angles: high, mid, low... ?

Any special attraction(s) near where you live? (e.g. beach, waves, falls...)

I saw some really stirring footage called Homeless Portraits. The guy simply went around and shot various homeless people in their native environment. It was moving because it was the way they were, their simple personalities:

I hope it's okay to link to it even if it's not HV20 related...it might get some creative juices flowing. Maybe you could shoot some people in your local area with the scenery as the backdrop. I plan to do a short doc on my home town showing the same thing.

yeh thanks for that guys, i just think there is so much more we can do with our cameras other than filming the same old stuff... i like the idea of the rush hour traffic (playing with the shutter speed also) and the homeless environments. Now is the time to get creative!!!

I'm going to do the same thing in the coming weeks...try to get something shot here so that others can see something they'd never see otherwise. The Homeless thing had too sad of a mood to it, I thought it was going to be something different. I wanted to do a little Documentary on Homeless people and call it "A Bum's Life," but soon after the idea came into my mind, I dismissed it...I don't want to get hurt or anything (bums around here AREN'T very nice), and it'd also turn out very unprofessional for its own good. I'm not sure if that's been done before anyways...it probably has. Anyone know for sure?

I encourage everyone to try to get a little bit of footage of their surrounding area to share! That'd be great!

Anonymous FTP to hv20.info (not HV20.com).

Links must be made to hv20.info/yopu/filename.ext where filename.ext is the name of the file you uploaded.

I use either Filezilla, or the FireFTP plugin for Firefox.

OK. First, what FTP program are you using. Here are a couple of screenshots of the settings I use:

FireZilla
http://hv20.info/yopu/Firezilla.png

FireFTP
http://hv20.info/yopu/FireFTP.png

In neither case did I have to enter a username or password. Merely ticing the Anonymous box was enough for these to be entered (both are "anonymous"). Just entered a name for the connection, and the host name is HV20.info. and the programs/extensions took care of the rest.

Hope that helps.
