how do you guys attatch you field monitors/LCD screens to your rig ? I have an idea buy i have to goto a hardware store and buy some L brakets and some straight steel to cut, some nuts and bolts ect... wich i will do in two days .. i just thought maybe you guys have a simpe solution or would have some pics to sharehow you guys have done it. It would really be appriciated. Onece i have completed mine ( granted it works ) i will post some pics my only convern is that my 7" LCD might be a little heavy and i'm not quite sure how i am going to support it ( properly ) - marty.

Heres what i'm doing. Its still very rough but i thought i'd show how its coming along I used an L bracket wich i mounted onto a board in with i will mount the monitor onto, i had a small base plate with the same thread size for DV cams ( lucky ey ) wich holds the bracket under the HV20. The L bracket is thick so it wont have any dramas with the weight ( not that the 7' monitor will weigh all that much ) i am going to give the board a good sand papering ( you can see on the back side it really needs it:eek:) and paint it matt black befor i mount the screen, but i think it will work out pretty well. I've included some pics to show how its all coming along, hopefully will be painted by tomorrow and will post pics again, and once my screen comes ( flat scren LCD ) i will mount it and post the final product :) Let me know what you think !

My only issue with that is how would you gain access to the function button and joystick quickly? Personally, I would mount it slightly to one side. Maybe you have - but there is little perspective in the pictures.
It looks neat, though. And with a 35mm adapter will look better still!

thanks worley, i have room so i have access to the cameras controls, but this is a prototype and if its to hard to do while filming i will try and move it either up/down or to the side a little. as for the 35mm adaptor for a better look at only a matter of time ey ;) - Marty.

Worley,
There's a pretty good discussion comparing the 35mm adapter options going on at dvxuser (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=102501), you might enjoy it ...

We are using off the shelf bogen/manfrotto parts:
Part numbers:
Bogen/Manfrotto 484RC2 Ball Head (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=Search&A=details&Q=&sku=272757&is=REG&addedTroughType=search)(with removable camera plate..fits 701RC2 fluid head too) This is effectively a quick release for the Marshall.
Bogen/Manfrotto 2933 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=1352&A=details&Q=&sku=5184&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation) $15

You may have seen this before, but just to round out the thread,..... The aluminum square tubing is hard mounted to the camera flip mount, with heavy duty velcro used on bottom of monitor (DVD player).
