Hello everyone, I've completed the editing on about 4 seperate days of filming random stuff with my new HV20 to create this montage. All the footage was shot in 24p cinema mode except the fireworks footage which I used fireworks setting for. I edited everything in Premiere 2.0.
HV20 Montage 720p (176mb) (hv20.info/yopu/Canon HV First Shot Montage 720p)
I forgot to include the file extension when uploading to HVinfo so when downloaded simply rename and put an .wmv at the end. Well please enjoy and let me know what you think.

Every time you publish interlaced footage an angel loses its wings :(

What format is the movie file?
.mov?
.mpg?
Something else? I can't get it to play, and it doesn't tell me what it is...

He said that it's a .wmv, so simple manually rename the file and just add ".wmv" at the end of it and it'll work.

Damn it's Interlaced?!!! Sorry guys, Im new to the Hi-def editing. I will try to fix this problem and repost the new vid. Anywho if you play it in VLC player you can enable a de-interlacer as you watch. Thanks for the info so far guys, and I appreciate all of your video and pic contributions. This Forum ROCKS!!!!!

Good stuff Dustin!
Just picked up my HV20 two days ago, so now I'm getting inspired.

Nice footage!
Good to see the camera working in all different lighting situations. Do you remember your settings for the fire shots (not fireworks - the face next to the fire)?

For the fire in front of the face as well as the purple candle I had the camera on 24p cinema mode.

You guys are scaring me with all this jargon!! What is interlace???? I've just ordered an HV20 but I'm worried I won't be able to figure out how to download footage onto a laptop and edit it.
Do I use one editing software package or do I need other programs?

Hey Retired26, you may need to update Windows Media Player before you can play the file. If that doesn't work try downloading VLC Player. You can find it here:

I would'nt worry Boybeck. I swear I exported it as 24p progressive in Premiere, but maybe I made a mistake. The only thing I would suggest is you have a pretty good laptop to be able to run and edit the HDV videos. I tried playing a clip on my parents computer and the thing seized up. You can find plenty of info on interlacing and de-interlacing on this forum or other forums as well. Don't let the subject of interlacing deter you from buying a HV20.

Deinterlace???
What an idiot I am, when I saw people complaining about interlacing in this thread I went back to my clips preferences and saw that I hadn't used deinterlace (none), no wonder my clips looked like crap when played back. I just did a test with a small clip (Deinterlace @ interpolate, for motion) and it looks great. All this time and HD space wasted, did I say I'm an idiot?
