Trouble With Uploading

I have footage in recorded in sony vegas and I don't know how i should save it to my computer. There are quite a few settings. The Mpeg 2 wo'nt play on my computer and avi's quality is ruined.

Please help me on how one would go about editing and saving to the computer in sony vegas.

First, make sure the project settings (File/Properties) are correct in relation to frame size and rate (eg PAL DV widescreen) - these should match the footage you're using.

When exporting, select File/Render As... and select a suitable output format. I use PAL DVD Architect Widescreen DVD and this seems to do the trick for me. It succesfully reduces HDV to 720*576.
