View Full Version : HV20 and Continuous Photo

I need to make sure my NTSC HV-20 is behaving. I just bought a pricey SanDisk II miniSD card to test the camera's Photo mode as well as its photo capability during HDV Camera mode.

In both Continuous and Hi-speed Continuous Photo, with the JPEG settings at Max quality and Max size it recorded about 5 or 9 frames to the card before stopping. Those shots happened VERY fast, but of course I was hoping for "endless" continuous until the SD card was filled. This is how my the Canon S3 and other SD card point and shoots work these days. To keep recording stills, another press of the button is required.

While recording in Camera mode, when I press the handy Photo button, I am only getting 1 frame recorded to the SDcard, rather than a continuous spree. This is fine, but I just want to make sure my HV-20 is operating normally.

Anyone out there willing to share their results?

Many Thanks!

Dear fellow travelers,

Please pop a miniSD into your Canon HV20 and tell me if you get "open-ended" Continuous shooting....thanks!

p.s. Having a miniSD card allows transferring single frames from tape and that's another great feature of this camera.

In both continuous and hi-speed I get five pictures. I think the memory buffer of the camcorder is not to big and the memory card speed does not matter.

Okay. I thank you for checking that. Good luck and good shoots to you.
