Circuit City is selling the HV20 for a price of $984 on their web site.
http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/Search.do?c=1&context=&keyword=hv20&searchSection=All&go.x=0&go.y=0
Applying a 10% off $199 purchase will decrease the price to approx $886. Then there is tax to deal with but even so that should bring the final purchase to $910 - $930 depending on your states sales tax. Shipping is free and the best way to go since most of the Circuit City B&M stores are out of stock.
You can get a 10% off $199 CC coupon here at the AAA web site, link below.
http://ww2.aaa.com/scripts/WebObjects.dll/AAAOnline?page=AAACircuitCity&association=aaa&club=5&zip=93744
Enter zip code 93744 or 89427 and then click the "continue as a non member" button. Enter your email and 10% off coupon will show up in your inbox in about 5 to 10 minutes. Circuit City adjusts the camera price each day. Today (Sunday) its $984, tomorrow it may be higher or lower but probably higher. Friday it was $1039, Saturday it was $1006. Your best bet would be to buy it ASAP before they go out of stock again and then have the price adjusted if it goes below your purchase price in the next 30 days.

That's the way I got mine. CC + AAA 10% discount. I'm a AAA member so I just used my zip code. One CC in the area had them in stock a few weeks ago as well. Keep in mind that if it says 'Web Only' special or something like that and you want to buy it in store you still have to buy it online and pickup in store. The in store won't sell it to you for the web price, even if you print it out and take it w/ you.

There is also this coupon -

$30 off all camcorders - so that should help with the taxes. Anyone know if this is stackable? Also CC doesn't have ENTER COUPONS option, is this something you have to take a chance on when you go in to the store and present?
Right now I am waiting for the AAA coupon, but it says 24 hours, I might not get it in time.
Also, if you sign up for CC rewards VISA, you get an addition 5% off most items -will that apply to this? I wonder if you can sign up for it at the time. I really don't like taking the chance of trying to use the coupons after I get there though and finding out they won't work...
Anyone?

If you go to their web page and order it online for "in store pickup" it will charge you whatever price the web says minus any coupons plus sales tax. Your credit card will be charged and all you have to do when you go to the Circuit City store is show them the web printout and they will get the camcorder for you.
Since you already bought it via the web the actual store won't have anything to do with selling it to you. All they do is pick it out of their stock and hold it for you. Now if you don't buy it on line but just do a printout of the price and try to get the store to match the price then it gets iffy. Even more iffy applying the coupon so bext to do a on store picup if you can. At the moment CC is offerign free shipping so easiest to do it that way.

Actually there is a ENTER COUPONS option on the CC web order page, but its not on the initial product page. You have to add the HV20 to your cart, and start the checkout process. After you fill in your personal info there will be a option to enter a coupon.
I got my coupon within 10 minutes of submitting my email address via the AAA site. It could be that AAA is cracking down on this as there probably has been a flood of people requesting coupons since this info went public on the web.
Another option would be Ebay as these 10% AAA coupons are being offered for just a couple of dollars.

Yes, I finally got mine AAA coupon. I am holding off though, I have a feeling that there is going to be a better deal come July 4th (fingers crossed). Although the CC deal is good right now, having seen it at <$800 in June make me want to hold out.
Where did you see where you can enter the coupon? I was at part 3, entering in credit card info and had not seen it yet to that point?

It is in Part 3. If you look right above the credit card information, there is an option button which asks about do you want to use a coupon or something. Just click that yes button and it will show a box where you can put your coupon code.

Thanks I will try that. Ok, that is it. It does work, but can't stack. I wanted to stack the Friends and Families $30.00 off coupon, but it only allows one coupon per order - that sucks...

Yup. I ended up sitting in my truck in the CC parking lot and buying the camera over the phone and then using in-store pickup since the store wouldn't honor the price. :hv20-smilie51:

I hate waiting for UPS :hv20-smilie70:
Oh and there was nothing iffy about them price matching their web only price, they flat out refused. Like I said above, I had the option of using one of their public computers to enter my credit card and buy it online or calling on the phone.

So what happened? Which coupon did they refuse?

They refused to sell me the camera in store at the website price. I had to order the camera over the phone, tell them the AAA coupon code, then tell them what store I wanted to pickup the camera at and go back inside and pick it up. Very much a PITA, makes no sense and just pretty much pissed me off. But I wanted the HV20 :hv20-smilie03:

I ordered the HV20 from CC with the AAA coupon (non member) and everything went well online. Since I am going out of town, I don't have time to go pick it up so I opted for the FREE shipping. It should be sitting at work when I get back.
Final cost
$886.49 subtotal
$68.44 tax
$954.93 Total & Free shipping.
Not too bad.
